Pathfinder Magazine. Whooping cough Is one o the oldest old-est known of child diseases, yet there are no certain treatments or preventives preven-tives known. And many parents bare the wrong Idea about whooping cough. They regard it as a child disease that every child must have, and take little trouble to guard their children against exposure, regardless of age. But that is what makes the death rate from whooping cough greater than that from scarlet fever, measles and Infantile In-fantile paralysis combined. It ors been estimated that whooping cough Is twenty times as fatal for children under five years of age as for those beyond that age. Thus approximately 05 per cent of the deaths from this disease occur in the pre-scbool age group.
