Show STATE BASKET BALL CHAMPIONS INVADE IDAHO .. The Holy Rosary Baketball team winners of the Knights of Columbus Colum-bus State basketball Tournament will journey to Pocatello, Idaho to meet the St. Joseph's High School Quintet of that city on Saturday March 8th. The local team coached by Ernie Er-nie Simpson and and managed by Father Ruel has brought State honors to Bingham Canyon for two consecutive years, and is now carrying the Bingham colors in an interstate contest. This sort of clean, high class publicity coun teracts to some extent the unwelcome unwel-come notoriety given our town-by town-by reason of several deplorable murder cases. This town should gladly volunteer financial and moral backing to those attempting attempt-ing and succeeding in giving Bing ham the better name which it deserves by reason of its many high class citizens. At the present time it is doubt ful whether Coach Simpson will be able to acompany the team. Father Ruel. has obtained a sub stitute for his church work and will take charge of the boys. The trip will be made by train, the party leaving Saturday morning and returning Sunday evening. Because of insufficient funds, on ly a very limited number of the team will be able to make the trip but those who have been selected to represent Bingham have pledg ed themselves to do their utmost in bringing home the bacon. The Bulletin, in the name of this town wishes the Holy Rosary team, the best of luck. |
