Kencraft scored all their runs in the first inning against Prolitho and gave up all their runs in the third as they held on for a 8-5 8-5 victory. Against Comet Chemical Wednesday evening Kencraft played most of the game a man short but held on for a 14-5 win. Round three ended last night for the lower division with Frontier Cafe playing Kencraft, Comet Chemical against Castle-wood, Castle-wood, and Prolitho vs M VSM-Play-boys. Lindon Precision remained ahead of the Plumbers in the standings stand-ings with a 4-3 victory. Kevin Ash hit a two out single to knock in the winning run for Lindon Precision. Walker Oil came back from a sluggish second round to jump all over Lindon Precision 8-1. John Gleave knocked a two run homer in a six run first inningfor Walker Oil and they never looked back. Sanders' Construction also jumped out quickly with five runs in the second inning enroute to a 7-1 7-1 victory over the Plumbers. Jesse Walker knocked a . lead-off homer to pace the Wallbangers Wall-bangers to a 7-6 victory over Tri-L Construction. Robert Simpson hit a solo homer for Tri-L to bring them within one game in a game protested by Tri-L in the top of the sixth inning. Games were held last night with Walker Oil against Wils, Tri-L Tri-L vs the Plumbers and the Wallbangers Wall-bangers playing Lindon Precision. Scores were not available at press time. Lower Division Castlewood clinched the round three tournament spot with a pair of wins last week. They had to go to three extra innings to finally fi-nally get past MVSM-Playboys 11-10. 11-10. Both teams scored twice in the first extra inning, once in the second sec-ond extra inningbefore Blair S wen-son wen-son scored the winning run with one run out in the third extra inning. in-ning. Frontier Cafe moved back into a tie for the best record in the division with a couple of wins. Comet Chemical Transport was their first victim as Frontier Cafe ran away with a 7-1 victory. Cris Bunnell had a great game for Frontier Cafe scoring four runs including an inside in-side the park homer in the fourth inning. Frontier Cafe jumped out for five runs in the first inning against MVSM-Playboys in a 17-4 blowout. Cris Bunnell again led Tri-L Construction finished up round two with a perfect record to clinch a place in the league playoffs play-offs in the upper division. Prolitho finished in a tie for second in the lower division behind CCT and will receive the position in the playoff as they had the better head to head record against the teams they were tied with. Upper Division Tri-L Construction wound up a perfect round with a 9-3 win over Sanders' Construction. Sanders Sand-ers had a 3-1 lead entering the seventh inning but Tri-L came up with two runs to send the game into the tie-breaker. In the tiebreaker, tie-breaker, Tri-L scored four runs before Sanders could get an out enroute to their big win. The Wallbangers scored three in the first inning and six in the fifth to put away Wils 11-5. Rick Howard hit a two run homer to lead the Wallbangers. |
