(iloria Cobbtey Heinz and Lola Leonhardt Brad Mills Homecomings, Farewells announced Michael J. Sumner Elder Michael J. Sumner, son of Frank and Joyce Sumner, Pleasant Grove, has recently returned from the Micronesia, Guam LDS Mission.! Elder Sumner will speak in, sacrament meeting Sunday, March 13, at 3:50 p.m. in the Pleasant Grove 11th Ward, 193 N. 400 East. All those interested in hearing Elder Sumner's report are invited to attend. Elder Sumner served on the island of Kosrae, a small island with a population of about 6,000. He had some very interesting experiences ex-periences and was able to participate par-ticipate in the first baptism in the history of Kosrae and also helped to establish the first branch of the church. Heinz and Lola Leonhardt Elder Heinz Leonhardt and lister Lola Terry Leonhardt, Pleasant Grove, have been called to serve in the Illinois, Peoria LDS Mission in the Nauvoo Visitors Center. They will speak in a sacrament service Sunday, March 13, at 9 a.m. in the Pleasant Grove 1st Ward Chapel, 275 E. 500 South. An open house will also be held the same afternoon at the family home, 566 S. 400 East, Pleasant Grove. They will enter the Missionary Training Center on March 16. Elder Leonhardt retired from Utah State Training School, where he worked in the Maintenance Dept. for 36 years. Matthew Rutter Elder Matthew Rutter, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. James Rutter of Manila, has recently returned from serving in the Korea, Seoul West Mission. He will speak at a sacrament service Sunday, March 13, at 2 p.m. in the Manila Ward Chapel, 4000 North 8800 West. There will also be an open house at the Rutter residence Sunday evening after 6 p.m. All friends and relatives are invited in-vited to hear Elder Rutter's reports and attend the open house. Travis C. Carpenter Elder Travis C. Carpenter, son of Doyle and June Carpenter, has been called to serve in the San Juan Puerto Rico LDS Mission. He will be honored at a farewell on Sunday, March 13, at 9 a.m. in the Manila Second Ward, 105 W. 1800 North. All friends and relatives are invited in-vited to attend. Elder Carpenter will enter the Missionary Training Center on March 16. Travis graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and LDS Seminary. He has been employed by Neils Fugal and Sons for the past two'years. Gloria Cobbley Sister Gloria Cobbley will return from the Canada, Halifax Mission March 11. She is the daughter of Glade and Fae Cobbley, American Fork. She will speak in sacrament meeting Sunday, March 13, in the American Fork 1st Ward Chapel, 381 S. 300 East. All friends and relatives are invited in-vited to come and welcome her home. Brad Mills Elder Brad Mills, son of President Frank and Annette Mills, will be honored at a missionary farewell on Sunday, March 13, at 2 p.m. in the Pleasant Grove 5th Ward, 275 E. 500 South. Brad has been called to serve in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin LDS Mission. He will enter the Missionary Training Center on March 23. An open house will be held the same day at the family home, 466 E. 100 South. All friends and relatives are invited to attend. Brad is a graduate of Pleasant Grove High School and LDS Seminary. He was on the wrestling team. He is attending Utah Valley Community College. An Eagle Scout, Brad is also the recipient of the Duty to God Award. Robert W. Bean A missionary farewell for Elder Robert W. Bean, son of Ray and Verna Bean, will be held Sunday, March 13, at 10:45 a.m. in the Lindon Fourth Ward, 731 E. Center, Lindon. Elder Bean has been called to serve in the Texas San Antonio Mission. He will enter the Missionary Training Center on March 30. All friends and relatives are invited in-vited to his farewell. Robert is a graduate of Pleasant Grove High School and LDS Seminary. He has attended Utah Valley Community College for one and one-half years majoring in General Education. In his ward he has served as first assistant in the Priests Quorum and as a Senior Patrol Leader in the Scouting program. Robert has earned his Duty to God Award and his Eagle Scout Badge. |
