The children of Cleston and Josie Pace will honor their parents on their 50th WeddingAnniversary with an open house, Saturday, Oct. 1 1988 from 7 to 9 p.m. at their home, 551 E. 900 North, Lehi, Utah. The event is open to all friends and relatives. They request no gifts. Cleston is the son of William B. and Hazel I. Pace. He was born in Woodland and raised in the Uintah Basin. Josie is the daughter of Earl Boore and Elva Humes, She was born in Roosevelt and raised in the Uintah Basin. She met Cleston in Duchesne. They were married in Duchesne on Oct. 4, 1938 and lived ' there until their first child was born. Then in 1940 they moved to American Fork. They moved to Lehi permanently in 1950. They both enjoy outdoor life, camping, hunting and fishing. They also enjoy traveling and have been to California, Arizona, Colo-rado, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Washington D.C. They are the parents of six chil-dren, Wayne Pace and Judy Baker of Littlefield, Ariz., Larry Pace of FVuitland, Utah, Randy Pace and Hal Dee Pace of Lehi, Utah. One son, Don Pace, died in 1976. They have 26 grandchildren and 14 Cleston and Josie pac( pleasant living Trudy A. Jarvis to recite vows with Steven Bessert Steven L. Bessert and Trudy A. Jarvis have chosen to wed Sept. 30, 1988 at the Colonial House, Lehi. The bride-to-b- e is the daughter of Bill and Bev Jarvis of American Fork. The prospective groom is the son of Louis and Jolene Bessert of American Fork. The newlyweds will be honored at a reception on Sept. 30 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Colonial House, 187 W. Main, Lehi. All friends and rela-tives are invited to attend. Attending the bride will be Roxanne Jarvis, Kim Bessert, Debbie Brenchley and Andrea Fordham. Best man duties will be per formed by Bill Besatrt with Dennis Jarvis, Greg Jarvis and Rick Bro-ciou- s serving as groomsmen. Pre-nupti- showers for the bride were hosted by Fay Fordham, Connie Ormond, Jolene and Kim Bessert, Roxanne Jarvis, Brenda Robbins and Sally Lavcock. The bride-to-D- e is a graduate of American Fork High School and LDS Seminary. She is working at Utah State Training School. The prospective groom is a graduate of American Fork High School and LDS Seminary. He is employed at Geneva Steel. The couple will make their first home in American Fork. Cadmus Club members met at the home of Phyllis Thompson on Sept. 21 for the first meeting of the season. President Drucilla Smith welcomed the members and con-ducted necessary business. The need they felt to study and learn more of history, literature and current world events was noted. She told of many worthwhile projects and contributions made by Cadmus through the years. Sytha paid tribute to Lois West for seeing the need for the club and her part in organizing it. She said. "Books are the foun-dation of the club," and expressed the importance of reading and learning. She admonished members to learn something each day. "Count your age by friends, not years - add some every year." Hose shared many happy memories of special, exciting and humorous experiencesand showed some mementoes of these occasions she had saved through the years. Legrand and Ruth Mott celebrate golden anniversary with family i s s n Legrand and Ruth Mott cA - v; celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary Sept. 26. Celebrations were held with their family. Legrand and Ruth were married Sept. 26, 1938 in Orem. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple Sept. 6, 1944. They have accomplished many things in their life. Legrand worked for Geneva Steel for 35 years. He loves sports and thus spent many years coaching the young boys in the baseball program. Ruth enjoys doing handwork. She made the beautiful flags in the library which the scouts enjoy. Together, the couple enjoy working in their garden and yard. The two receive great pleasure in giving their produce to friends and neighbors. They have four children: Jay Legrand Mott, Manchester, Tenn.; Earl A. Mott, Holland. A reception will honor the couple that evening from 7 to 9 p.m . at the home of the groom's parents, 9917 N. 8000 West, Lehi. Baum Karri Ann Hooley Program announced for Head Start The Mountainland Head Start program announces the sponsorship of the Child Care Food Program. The same meals will be made available to all enrolled children at no separate charge regardless of race, color, handicap, age, national origin or sex and there is no discrimination in the course of the meal service. If anyone feels they are discriminated against, they need to write immediately to the Secretary of Agriculture, Washington, D.C. 20250. Eligibility for free and reduced meal reimbursement is based on the following income scales effective through June 30, 1989.
