Show Lindon City seeks compensation for flood damages By KALYN SECRETAN Lindon City is quite frustrated in the effort to recover damages from the canal break last spring. The claim against Provo River Water Users Association was reviewed re-viewed at a recent council meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Boyer met with the Council concerning the damages to their home. Mayor McMillan presented an update where the City Engineer reported the damages at $270,000. Since the sewer needed some repair re-pair the claim was trimmed to $137,000. The water u sers board offered to pay 50 cents on the dollar which amounted to $67,000. The city refused re-fused the offer. The canal board stated they were not to blame but would send $72,000. About 15 to 39 residents have accepted offers to settle their claims. The city questions how the canal company can claim nobody is guilty. The waver poured through the city. Water came off the canal property due to a faulty and overfull over-full canal.
