Show PG Community Fair seeks artists The Pleasant Grove Community Fair committee invites all artists to participate in the exhibit which is being held in connection with the Fair, Sept. 5, 1987. There have been divisions set up for senior and junior, professional or amateur. We need entries from oil painters, sculptures, photographers, watercolorists, china painters and photographers. Entries will be accepted the day of the fair from 7 to 9 a.m. at the Pleasant Grove Community Center 31 E. 200 South. All paintings must be framed and with a wire ready to hang. Marcia Bales and Jennifer Christiansen will be the judges. Prizes will be awarded for Best of Show, with first, second and third in all categories. Entries are to be picked up after the fair between 5 and 6 p.m. Special features connected with the fine arts are free drawing lessons in the City Park, sponsored by local Allstate Insurance agent Glen Pack; Louie Kinyon will be demonstrating wood carving in the park; local artist, Evelyn Roberts, will have a display on china painting pain-ting in the exhibit hall and will be available to answer questions about the processes necessary in the china painting. Anna Swanagan will have her easel set up in the park and will demonstrate the Gary Jenkins method of floral painting. In order to generate funds for future fine arts exhibits it will be necessary to charge for all entries: junior exhibitors, $1 per entry; Senior exhibitors, $2 per entry; Senior Citizens, (55 years and over,) Free. |
