"The Community Arts Development Grants are aimed at organizations that come to the Utah Arts Council for first-time funding," said Executive Director Carol Nixon. "These grants are designed to encourage growth, not only in the number of organizations that present arts events, but also in the quality of their undertakings." An organization may receive Community Arts Development Grants for three years, and after that time must compete for grant monies in the arts discipline categories, Nixon said. For instance, a fledgling theater group may receive Community Arts Development Grants for three years, then apply for funds available in the theatre category, she explained.
