'Odd Couple' performances planned at Valley Center Playhouse in Lindon "The Odd Couple," Neil Simon's hilarious comedy of two men who become roommates by circumstance, cir-cumstance, opens Nov. 6, for nine performances at the Valley Center Playhouse. Directed by Duke Major, "The Odd Couple" is the story of Oscar Madison, divorced and living alone in his eight room apartment, who extends an invitation to his friend, Felix Ungar, recently separated from his wife, to move in. The results make for non-stop humor. A seasoned cast of local talented actors, lead by Dennis Purdie as Felix and Kieth Christenson as Oscar, come to grips with the problem of divorce. The cast includes Sheldon Wor-thington, Wor-thington, Alan Wagoner, Bob Farris, and Joe Sorensen as the card playing buddies. Paula Snow and Jody Renstrom play the coo-coo sisters who live upstairs. The original "Odd Couple" opened on Broadway on March 10, 1965 with Walter Mathau playing Oscar and Art Carney as Felix. It was later filmed with Mathau and Jack Lemmon.
