' j i ' 1 " H : ' h ' w ' ':' 1 ' , J Dell Young has been named as bishop of the Pleasant Grove 17th Ward to replace Bishop Bill Kirby who has served for several years. Bishop Young's counselors are Steve Francom and Vern Muir. Released as counselors in the prior bishopric were Rich Townsend and Reed Adams. Called to serve as clerks in the new bishopric are Danny Smith, executive secretary; Clyde Fames, ward clerk; Boyd Fenton.financial clerk; Kent Karren, welfare clerk; Robert (Bud) Baker, membership clerk; Gerry Molyneux, assistant executive secretary; John-Lehi Jensen, historical clerk; and John Chestnut, statistical clerk. Bishop Young is the principal at the Pleasant Grove Junior Seminary. He is a member of the Pleasant Grove City Council and is over Planning and Zoning. He is married to the former Vicki Roneen Adams. They are the parents of six children, three boys and three girls. The new bishop enjoys sports and has been active in the Pleasant Grove Summer Swim program. Steve, first counselor in the bishopric, is in sales for a Provo automobile company. He enjoys hunting and sports. He and his wife, Sandy, are the parents of five girls and one boy. Second counselor, Vern Muir, has owned Annie's Pantry Restaurant in Provo. He moved to Provo from the Seattle area and came to Pleasant Grove two years ago. He and his wife, Cherilyn, are the parents of four boys. Danny is a steelworker. He likes camping, golfing and sports. He is married to the former Naon Atwood and they are the parents of three children. A former Loganite, Clyde is employed at the Utah State Training School as director of Speech and Languages and the Hearing Department. He and his wife, Kathy Barnard, have been residents of Pleasant Grove for the past eight years. They are the parents of four children. A Studebaker fancier, John-Lehi enjoys law enforcement, guns, horses, music, leather, swimming and, of course, Studebakers. He is the son of Chester L. and AmyLee Jensen of Pleasant Grove. He is married to the former Lila Wells of Lindon and they have four children. John-Lehi works for the Utah State Prison with the road crews. Boyd works for Geneva Steel. He enjoys water skiing, hunting and fishing. He is married to the former Shelley Whiteley and they have three children. Gerry works for the United States Postal Service as a Star Route Contractor. He is married to the former Gwen Walker and is the father of five children, four boys and one girl.
