Show Elizabeth Anderson to be honored at open house for 80th birthday 1 $ The family of Elizabeth S. Anderson An-derson will host friends and relatives at an open house to celebrate her 80th birthday on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the cultural hall of the Pleasant Grove 11th Ward Church, 193 N. 400 East. Mrs. Anderson was born November 4, 1904 in Granger, the daughter of Jesse and Priscella S. Smith. She married Owen B. Anderson An-derson on June 1, 1921 in Syracuse, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Her children are Robert Anderson, An-derson, Pleasant Grove; Ernest Anderson and Mrs. Eldon (Esther) Kimball, West Valley City; Mrs. David (Margaret) Adams, Layton; Stanley Anderson, LaVerkin; Stephen Anderson and Mrs. David (Karen) Howard, Orem; and Mrs. Vergil (Eileen) Peterson, American Fork. She has 48 grandchildren, 43 of whom are living, and 55 great grandchildren. Mrs. Anderson was raised in Syracuse, Davis County, and attended at-tended schools there. Her early married years were spent in Bountiful. In 1939 she and her husband were called by the LDS Church to move to Palmyra, New York to settle on the church property directly behind the Hill Cumorah known as the "Sampson farm." They lived there for nine years before moving back to Utah and settling in Spring City. In 1971, some years after Mr. Anderson's retirement as principal of the LDS seminary at Mt. Pleasant, they moved back to Mr. Anderson's childhood home in Pleasant Grove where they now reside. Mrs. Anderson has given freely of her time and talents in service to those around her, especially her musical talents. She has served in all the auxiliaries of the LDS Church and as a temple worker in both the Manti and Provo temples. She and her husband served a mission to Northern California from 1973 to 1975.
