Show Proud grandparents report on activities of precocious grandson Todd Jeremy Duvall, whose roots are deep in Pleasant Grove, has earned several honors at Wheat Ridge Junior High School in Denver, Colo., where he lives with his mother, Geraldene Carpenter. Todd is the son of Jene Duvall of Pleasant Grove, and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Lowell W. Duvall and Mrs. Melba W. Carpenter, also of Pleasant Grove. His other grandfather, grand-father, Howard L. Carpenter, Sr., lives in West Jordan, Utah. Todd was recently named a 1984 United States National Award winner in foreign language by the United States Achievement Academy, after being nominated for the award by his Spanish teacher. He was also nominated for membership in the Mile High Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society for his performance at the school. In addition to academic achievements, Todd was a trumpet soloist at a recent performance of Todd Duvall the Wheatridge Junior High Concert Band in the "Serenade for Trumpet" by Jay Chattaway. |
