Garden Club urges residents to submit plant starts for sale during P.G. Fair The Pleasant Grove Garden Club will sell plant starts on the Fall Flower Show being held in connection con-nection with the Community Fair on Sept. 10. Residents who have starts of plants available are urged to notify a member of the committee or bring the starts to the sale. All proceeds will be donated to the library fund project. Faye Bellislon, president of the Garden Club, suggested that people might submit starts of plants such as peonies, daisies, iris, ground cover, roses, snowballs, lilacs, beauty bush, forsythia, flowering almond, etc. Mrs. Belliston noted that shrubs and flowers planted in the spring can also be planted in the fall. The club encouraged citizens to check their flower beds and plan to enter flowers or plants or flower arrangements in the flower show. The theme for the show will be "Autumn Splendor." If there are any questions or if you need to have someone pick up your starts please notify Mrs. Belliston at 785-2383, Velma Gillman at 785-2358 or Shirley Millgate at 785-5C17. |
