The omnipotence of God and other Christian principles are taught daily in the half hour devotionals in each classroom. Parents are invited to attend the Friday morning sludentbody devotionals when their son or daughter is participating. Please call the schi 4050 for additional information Construction of a regulation size soccer field at American Heritage School in Pleasant Grove was discussed by the Board of Directors in their meeting at the school on Friday evening. Principal Verlan Anderson conducted con-ducted the meeting and those present voted to make Joe Ferguson the director of the soccer field project to be ready for play by the time school opens August 31. Pleasant Grove City construction crews have provided loads of fill dirt to level the field and James Jacob will bring his heavy equipment in to level the ground before sodding. The number of students registering for the American Heritage Junior High School is increasing rapidly and with the hiring of several new teachers, the 1981-82 school year promises to be most successful, Science, math, English, seminary, history, P.E. typing, vocal and instrumental in-strumental music will be offered. Also art and Spanish will be offered if present plans materialize. The faculty at American Heritage School in addition to Principal Verlan Andersen includes Shirley Anderson, Mary Anderson, Kay Asay, Sharon Austin, David Broadbent, Sandra Clawson, Linda Boothe, Geneve Cornell, Richard Davich, Donna Fairbanks, Barbara Goff, Esther Hutson, Velma Keith, Mary Ann Jolley, Adeline Johnson, Diane Mageno, Nancy Kirkpatrick, Beverly Wood and Ruth E. Yashko. The present enrollment is 275, with new students from as far as San-taquin, San-taquin, Salt Lake City and Heber City registering each week. New classroom facilities are presently being investigated as the maximum class size is approximately 20 students except in Kindergarten which was ten or fewer in 80-81. Kindergartens will be held in Edgemont, South Orem, and American Fork as well as in Pleasant Grove. A non-discriminatory policy is maintained as it has been since the school was founded by Verlan An-dersen An-dersen and other BYU professors in |
