MODIFIED CLASS In races at Roundabout Saturday, the Modified Class racers come around the turn kicking up a little dust. The races at Roundabout are held each Saturday. Cool Day Records Fall at Roundabout Records are still being broken at Round-Abou- t Raceway. In the stock class Don Willingham beat his old record with a time of 21.15 seconds, only to have Grant Leonard break that one, with a 21.10 sec. time. Then Larry Park broke Grants time to set the new record at a fast 21.06 time. Jack Elwell set a new Modified record of 17.65 seconds. Three different fellows won trophies in the stock class events last week. Don Willingham won the trophy dash by passing Larry Park on the last lap. Larry Park jumped into the lead early in the Stock Heat race proving unpassable to the finish. Gary Davis ""VSN did some "far out" driving and won his 1st trophy this year in the Stock Main event. Pete Campbell and Rod Mitani shared wins in the teen Stock Class after one of the teen favorites hit the big tire and totaled out his car. Pete won the trophy dash and Main event, while Rod proved to be the win-ner of the heat. Norman Rhodes held ' the lead all the way in both the Limited trophy dash and Heat race. When it was time for the main event Steve Turner and Norman fought all the way for 1st place. It was a very close finish, but when the flag dropped Steve was in the lead. Craig Chynoweth held the lead all the way in the Modified Trophy Dash. In the heat race Larry Brown worked his way from front to back and Jack Elwell worked from back to front taking the win and trophy. It was beginning to look as though the winner was going to be the car that was still running in the Modified Main event. Bill Davis, Cliff Cam-pbell, Jack Elwell and Marty West all had mechanical problems putting them out of the race, leaving only Craig Chynoweth, Larry Brown, and John Gooch to finish. Craig 1st Larry 2nd and John 3rd. Bike winners this week were Brandon Wood, Chad Wood, Steve Covington, John Roundy, Rena Rhodes, Shannon Hooley, Derick Taylor, Grant Brirdon, and Darrin Mitani. Steve Covington won the Wheelie contest. CROSSES THE LINE Norman Rhodes crosses the finish line a win-ner in races last week at Roundabout. Norm drove a good race.
