Show John Davenport Dies At Daughters Home Monday John E. Davenport, 77, died Monday Mon-day morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Hazel Smith of this city, following a short illness. He was born March 12, 1870 in Campbell County, Tennessee, a son of Stephen J and Mandy Smith Davenport. He married Lillian Blair in 1893. After her death in 1903 he married Delia Rae New-comb New-comb in 1905. She died 4 years ago. He came to Utah in 1913 and settled in Perry, Utah where he engaged in farming and fruitgrowing. fruitgrow-ing. He was a priest in the Perry ward of the LDS church at the time of his death. He is survived by 9 sons and 4 daughters, Mary Jane Webb, Indianapolis, Ind-ianapolis, Charles Davenport, Hood River, Oregon; Revell Davenport, Ogden; Mrs Bernice Williams, Tre-monton; Tre-monton; Mrs. Hazel Smith, Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove; Louis and Clifford Davenport, Dav-enport, Laramie, Wyoming, and Mrs. Doris Whittecar Perry, 15 grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren, great-grandchildren, one sister and five brothers. Ftaieral services will be conducted conduct-ed Saturday at 1 pjn. in the Perry LDS-ward with Bishop Harold P Hirischi in charge Burial will be in Brigham City cemetery. |
