I A 1 " ' NEW TEACHERS to r, front, Joan Warren, Arlene Jense, Lee Reynolds, back, Terry Tucker, Janice Randall, Christine Lee Spencer, and Nancy Ford are new teachers. Seven New Teachers Added to PI. Grove High School Staff, 1 975 Principal John P. , Gourley reported seven new teachers that were added to the faculty and staff at Pleasant Grove High School. New to the faculty this year is Joan Warren, a graduate of PGHS. She received her B.S. degree from Brigham Young University. Mrs. Warren's assignment is in clothing and textiles. She is married to Dean Warren and they have one son. Her objective for the coming year is "to work with students, school personnel and the community in an atmosphere which promotes learning and goals. He has received both his his B.S. and M.A. Degrees from BYU. Mr. Reynolds is a member of Phi Alphu Theta a national honor society. His hobbies are sports, and wood carving. Music teacher Terry Tucker, joins PGHS faculty in teaching the choral music. A graduate of BYU he has both his bachelor and masters degree. Mr. Tucker, wife Pat and two children live in Pleasant Grove. He has taught at PG Junior High, receiving top rating in region choral festival, four years running for junior high school division. While at Cedar Unclassroom. She has her B.S. and M.Ed, from BYU. Miss Spencer's hobbies are water skiing, tennis and good literature. Another English teacher is Janice Randall. She is married to Robert L. Randall and they have two children. She is a graduate of Southwest Missouri State University. While at Southwest Missouri State she was on the president's all "A" honor roll, and is a life member of Delta Psi Kappa. Mrs. Randall is interested in writing children"s stories, reading, weaving, and mod podging. City Jr. High School his mar-ching band won second place in Helldorado Days at Las Vegas. Mr. Tucker stated he would like to instill new pride in choral program at the high school for the bicentennial year. Christine Lee Spencer replaces Tom Sanderson. She will be working in the area of Human Relations and the Laura Arlene Jense, librarian, is also a graduate of Pleasant Grove High School. She received her B.A. Degree from BYU. She belongs to Phi Alpha Theta a national Honor Society for History. Her hob-bies are reading, collecting slides, crocheting, and traveling. She had traveled in 49 states, Canada and Mexico. Miss Jense stated that in her work this year at the high school she would like to be able to help the teachers and students use the Media Center to the best advantage for everyone. A new English and modern dance teacher, Nancy Ford, also joins the faculty. She has her B.S. degree in English and Psychology from BYU. She graduated from that University Magna Cum Laude, and belonged to Phe Kappa Phe. She was one of BYU In-ternational Folk Dancers for two years. Funeral Rites for Guy Hukhings Held Tuesday Funeral sservices for Guy Kelly Elliott Mulchings, 13, of Lindon who died Friday, Aug. 22 of causes pending in-vestigation, were held Tuesday, Aug. 26, in the Olpin Family Mortuary, Pleasant Grove. The services were under the direction of Ronald Brown, counselor in the Lindon Second Ward Speakers at the services were Rev. John Romanos Ky, Douglas Johnson, and Bishop Nyel Harris. Vocal numbers were given by Michael McMillan and Annie Smith, both accompanied by Cheri Hansen. Prayers were given by Scott Watts, Clark Hansen, and Chris Hansen, and the grave in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery was dedicated by Russell Hansen. Pallbearers were Kay, Boyce and Chris Hansen, Tim Elliott, Glen Miller, Bob Nelson and Jerry Lee Hutchings. Guy was born Oct. 8, 1961 in Provo to Jerry and Jannette Elliott Hutchings. He was an eighth grade student at Payson Jr. High School. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. R. Lynn Hansen, Lindon; father, Jerry Hutchings, Keni , Alaska; a brother and a sister, Jerry Lee and Penney Lynn Hutchings, a half-broth- and half sister, Wayne Lee and Jody Hansen, all of Lindon; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Hansen, Lindon; Mrs. Bessie Miller, Orem; and Carl Miller, Springville; plus a r, Mrs. Jennie Allred, Lindon. Funeral Services Held for Two Crash Victims Funeral services for George Almon Lux, 26, of Lehi and Joseph F. Hoover, 26 of Pleasant Grove were held this past week. The two young men were killed in an airplane crash last Friday morning, aiso killed in ttu cash were D. Brent Bird, 35, of Salt Lake City and Gene Wilson, 41, of Springville. The plane crashed in the Uinta primitive area. George Almon Lux was Dorn Aug. 1, 1949 in Tooele, a son of Thomas John and Ida Lovina Williams Lux. He married Burdette Jensen on July 18, 1969 in Lehi. Mrs. Jensen was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vern Jensen of Pleasant Grove. After their marriage the couple lived for a time in Orem and Salt Lake City, then returned to Lehi the first of this year. He was employed at the warehouse of Samon Electric Co. in Salt Lake City. Mr. Lux enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and motor-cycling. He was member of the LDS Church, in the Lehi 5th Ward. Surviving are his widow and two small sons, Ryan G. and Adam Michael Lux, all of Lehi; his parents of Springville; eleven brothers and sisters. Joseph F. Hoover was born Nov. 7, 1948 in Provo, a son of Joseph R. and Vaudys For-sgre- n Hoover. He married Diane Anderson May 5, 1967 in Orem. He received his education in Orem , graduating from Orem High School. He and his wife lived in Orem for six years before moving to Pleasant Grove. He worked for Pittsburgh-De- s Moine Steel Co. and Boyer Automotive prior to working for Samon's in Bountiful where lie had worked for the past 18 months. He was a member of the LDS Church, in the Pleasant Grove Sixth Ward. Survivors include his widow, two sons and one daughter, Russell J., Dustin S. and Natalie D., Hoover, all of .Pleasant Grove; father and stepmother, Orem; mother, Mesa, Ariz.; grandparents, Mrs. Lillian T. Hoover, Provo Canyon, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Forsgren, Howsell, Box Elder County, and one sister, Mrs. ' Norman (Connie Marie) Farnsworth, Orem.
