Show Timp Chapter of Utah Music Teachers Meet All music teachers in this North Utah County area are invited in-vited to the Timpanogos Chapter, Chap-ter, Utah Music Teachers Association, Asso-ciation, opening social to be held today, Thursday, Sept. 5. The social will start with a tour of the Astin-Weight piano factory and they will leave the area here to be at the factory at 10 a.m. After the tour and an explanation of piano making, mak-ing, brunch and a get-acquainted time at the park will be held. New officers for this year include Mrs. Dale (Margene) Shumway as president, Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove, Mrs. Robert K. (Audrey) Davis, Lehi, vice president; pres-ident; and Mrs. Kay (Jean) Stone, Lehi, as secretary and treasurer. Mrs. Reed T. (Lorna Jean) Hyde, Am. Fork, is reporter! Mrs. L. K. (Marge) Merkley, Am. Fork, achievement chairman; chair-man; Mrs. James H. (Elaine) Hadfield, Am. Fork, audition chairman and Mrs. Lindon (Lynette) Morrill of North Or-em Or-em is certification chairman. The new officers are planning plan-ning many interesting activities for the coming year. Some of these are: Beverly Adams, contemporary contempor-ary music discussion; Dr. John Longhurst, organ session; Dr. Merrill Bradshaw, composing techniques; Steve Goodman, to explain the suzuki method; a book report on "Splendor of Music" given by Audrey Davis and also showing workshop, for everyone to bring ideas.
