Some 60 paintings will be exhibited at show by the four artists. Maze! Johnson, Daughters, Exhibit Paintings at Eldred Adult Center ocean. Carol started painting as a child. She graduated from Orem High School and attend-B.Y.U. attend-B.Y.U. Her hobbies are accord-ian, accord-ian, guitar, sewing, dance. Was cheerleader. Painted in pastel chalk and acrylic. Mary Ann has also studied art since a child. Her fourth grade teacher hung her oil painting inthe class room for months. She graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and is a Sophomore student at B.Y.U. Her hobbies besides painting are piano, accordian, and her first love is sewing for herself, has sold many paintings, and has won first prizes; exhibited at the Utility Building in Provo; Pro-vo; exhibited many years in Utah County art exhibits, and has been chairman at the Lindon Lin-don Fairs. Hazel has a son, Van Johnson John-son who has art as a hobby, doing fine wookwork, lamps, Chess sets, nut bowls, etc. Darleen is the mother of two daughters and one son. Her hobbies are piano, accordian, accord-ian, guitar, gardening, sewing and oil painting. Graduated from Orem High School and lived in Hawaii one year, where she did a lot of painting and studying the An Art Show of sixty paintings paint-ings will be exhibited during December at the Eldred Adult Center, 270 West 500 North, Provo, Utah. A reception in honor of the family will be held Sunday, December 1, from 2 to 5 p.m. The public is invited. The artists are, Hazel Bigler Johinson, Lindon, Mrs. Buddy (Darlene) Bunnell, Orem; Mrs. Lynn (Carol) Croft, Murray and Mary Ann Johnson Soft-more Soft-more B.Y.U. Hazel was born in Southern Utah sheep and cattle country, where she spent the first 16 years on the ranch, herding sheep and working on the farm. In the hills and mountains moun-tains she had hours of time to observe nature, trees, rocks, streams of water, animals and the clowds. She lived these moods of rythm, color, sun and rain. She graduated from Wasatch Academy at Mount Pleasant, also graduated from Excelcis Beauty School in Salt Lake City. Her first home was in the Sierras in California where she also studied nature and got her first oils in 1941. Her first art teachers were Theo McQueen Mc-Queen and Killy Kilpatric, adult ad-ult education class. The Johnson Family spent a year traveling in a camper in 1963, touring Western Europe, England, the Scandinavian countries and North Africa. Visiting many of the Major Art Galleries, seeing and studying the old masters techniques. She took many slides of the countries, the Sisteen Chapel at the Vatican, Mona Lisa at the Louvre in Paris, etc. They also studied art in Alaska, Canada, Old Mexico, U.S.A., and the four Hawaiian Islands. Hazel was commissioned to paint the old Lindon School House, before they built the new one. The picture was in honor of Mrs. Hales who had tought there for 25 years. She |
