I Viking Wrestlers Win Over Carbon, 38 to 15 k Viking wrestlers won a L lopsided victory visiting i Carbon last Thursday, 38-15 in the second region VI match for I both teams. Sophomore David Keetch J. started the Viking win with a second preiod pin. In the second match Freshmen David She rod made a great effort at victory but inexperience betrayed him Ion 3 technical violations that ; cost him 4 points and a 7-11 loss. Sherod shows great potential (for the future. Craig Walker, another soph i won a superior decision and ! Kevin Green followed with a pin. Team captain Kurt Faux i won a decision but at 132 lbs. (Phillip Carroll ran into Carbon's Car-bon's best men Rudy Madrigal l. and was pinned. !A 138 lbs, Russ Moore again won. He was followed by Dale Wright who pinned his man in just :29 seconds. Brad Hardy (see photo) survived an early takedown and wend on to maul his man 19-5. Brad is undefeated in 6 matches and Coach Henry says "Brad wants to be a state champion and is paying the price in the practice sessions to achieve his goal." P.P. dropped close decisions at 167 and at heavyweight. Carl Christensen got his first pin of the year in the second period of the 185 lb. match. Several lineup changes have been effected on the varsity squad and the team seems to be improving from week to week. The Vikes will be in the Kearns tournament tomorrow and Saturday.
