BARBARA TAYLOR CINDY WOOD KAYLEEN COOK Rodeo Queen Contest Saturday Evening, 8 Twenty-five contestants have now signed up for the Rodeo Queen contest slated for this Saturday night starting at 8 p.m. in the Rodeo Arena. The Rodeo Queen picked Saturday night will reign over the Rodeo festivities at Strawberry Days June 17, 18 and 19. Contestants will be judged on riding ability, personality and beauty. They must be 16 years of age or older. The contest Saturday night is free to the public, and will also have calf riding events for kids up to 14 years of age, with parents consent. Last week, four girls were listed in the paper, and this week pictures of six more, all from Pleasant Grove, are in the paper. They are Barbara Taylor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack W. Taylor, Cindy Wood, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nolan Wood; Susan Miller, Mill-er, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Miller; Dena Kaye Neil-son, Neil-son, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rollo Nlelson; Geraldine Du-vall, Du-vall, daughter of Mrs. Melba Carpenter and Kayleen Cook, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ken-neth P. Cook. Two other local girls, Lois Gardner, Pleasant Grove, and Maxine G. Smith, Lindon, have also signed up. Girls from out of town who have signed up are Pam Har ding, Orem; Joan Sunderland, Lehi; Iris Tolley, Nephi; Linda Child, Hooper; Pam Devey, Alpine, Al-pine, and Becky Ludlow, Benjamin. Ben-jamin. Also, Shauna Norton, Provo, Jan Howell, Am. Fork, Cor-inne Cor-inne Day and Janet Russell, both Tooele; Kathy Linford, Provo, Ann Marie Scott, Orem and Lenore Peterson, Spanish Fork. The refreshment stand wlil also be open Saturday night for the contest, so bring the family fam-ily down and enjoy the events. Rodeo chairman this year is Reed H. Walker, assisted by Arnold Ray (Jim) Green and Vernon Ahman, who is secretary secre-tary for the rodeo. |
