SwEi) ion fvlonday ihm Newly elected officials of Pleasant Grove City were sworn in at special ceremonies held at the City Hall Council Chambers at 12 noon, Monday, Jan. 5, 1970. The oath of office was administered admin-istered by City Judge Keith Anderson An-derson to Mayor-elect Jack E. Cook, Councilmen-elect Cornell W. Haynie and re-elected Councilman Coun-cilman Michael Vicchrilli. Incumbent city officials are Councilmen Paul Blackhurst, Marvin Green and Walter Reimschiissel. Retiring officials are Mayor J. F. Harmer and Councilman Jesse K. Thorne. After being sworn in Monday Mon-day at noon, the new mayor presided at the first 1970 City Council meeting which was held Monday evening at the city hall. All members answered answer-ed to the official roll call. Grant Wright requested a business license to open a Rock Hobby Shop at 200 East and 200 South. His request was referred re-ferred to the Planning Commission Com-mission for investigation and recommendation. Delbert Ellis discussed with the council future road development develop-ment at his proposed building lot expansion. The matter was referred to Councilman Walter Reimschiissel and Councilman Paul Blackhurst for further investigation in-vestigation and later report. Bert Carter, contractor, and a Mr. Beckmah, engineer, presented pre-sented detailed plot plans for the proposed "Carter Subdivision" Subdivi-sion" on East Grovecreek Drive. The plans were referred to the City Planning Commission Commis-sion for final approval. Nolal Olsen, representing the Eagles Lodge, requested authorization auth-orization by the council for a State Liquor License. Final decision de-cision in the matter was deferred defer-red until the next regular council coun-cil meeting. Clyde Naylor and Dean Chris-tensen, Chris-tensen, representing the Aspen Engineering Firm, discussed the possibility of establishing a mobile homes park in the south portion of the city. They were advised to prepare definite plot plans and to return at a later date. Councilman Blackhurst reported re-ported that he is investigating costs of gravel for street improvement im-provement purposes. He stated that the 1970 need for gravel would be above the average. Councilman Vicchrilli reported report-ed that the Tri-City Golf Course architect will be in American Fork at 7:30 p.nr Jan. 14 to meet with the councils of the three cities involved. Mayor Cook presented his list of appointments for City Council Committees and also his recommendations for city employee heads of departments , The council approved them as follows: City Council Assignments Public Safety: Police Dept., Fire Dept., Animal Control, and Library: Chairman, Cornell Corn-ell Haynie, Walt Reimschiissel and Paul Blackhurst. Planning, Zoning and Licensing: Licen-sing: Building Inspection, Planning Plan-ning Committee, Board of Adjustment, Ad-justment, Soil Conservation, Shade Tree Committee: Mike Vicchrilli, chairman, Marvin Green, Cornell Haynie. Parks and Recreation: City Building and Property, Cemetery, Ceme-tery, Industrial Development, City Beautification: Marvin Green, chairman, . Walt Reimschiissel, Reim-schiissel, Mike Vicchrilli. Street and Sanitation: Streets and Walks, etc., Garbage, Senior Sen-ior Citizens: Paul Blackhurst, chairman; Cornell Haynie and Mike Vicchrilli. Water and Sewer: Water Development De-velopment and Distribution, Sewage Disposal and Treatment, Treat-ment, Education; Walter Reimschiissel, Reim-schiissel, chairman; Marvin Green, Paul Blackhurst. Special Council Assignment, Representing City Council on Strawberry Days Committee: Walt Reimschiissel and Paul Blackhurst.
