Show School Board Minutes Show Variety of Items Considered As recommended by Supt. Peterson the Board reaffirmed its policy that Oct. 31 be the deadline for the birth date of children entering kindergarten. Orem Jr. High School has been awarded $12,000 in state funds to finance a study of the teaching of mathematics, Supt. Peterson reported.' Dean T. Worltori, director of pupil personnel, reported that the 1969 high school graduates received scholarships totaling $147,216.00 He also stated that the dropout drop-out total for the 1969 graduates was only 5 per cent of their number who entered the 9th grade four years ago. The following items of interest inter-est to the residents of the PI. Grove area were gleaned from the minutes of the meeting of the Alpine District Board of Education, held Aug. 15, 1969. Clerk of the Board, Elijah Chipman, reviewed the completed comple-ted revenues and expenditures for school year July 1, 1968 to June 30, 1969. Revenues totaled $11,063,789.-88, $11,063,789.-88, including the following sources: sour-ces: County taxes, $3,786,219.68; Other local sources, $331,141.90; State Uniform School fund, $5,076,863.64; Other State Sources, Sour-ces, $246,839.83; Federal funds, $318,331.73; School lunch, $771,-758.26. $771,-758.26. Expenditures also totaled $11,063,789.88, with items as follows: Administration, $120,330.55; Instruction, $5,605,615.13; operation oper-ation of plant, $715,248.34; Transportation, $169,164.22; fixed fix-ed charges, $932,274.01; maintenance main-tenance of plant, $237,247.98; Other expenses, $104,821.16; Federal programs, $165,808.67; Capital Outlay, $1,487,846.34; and school lunch, $800,775.80. A balance on hand of revenues over expendituresh was $724,-667.68. $724,-667.68. Supt. Dan W. Peterson reviewed re-viewed the employee salary index in-dex structure and recommended recommend-ed it remain the same except that school lunch supervisors be paid by a scale based on the number of lunches served daily. |
