Show IdS linger IPrize drawing IFriday, PeCo O, 4 pBmB The prize drawing scheduled for Friday, Dec. 13 should be a "lucky" day for quite a few residents of the Pleasant Grove area. Gerald Belliston, C of C president, said the prize committee com-mittee has come up with more than a few outstanding gifts to be given away Friday, in addition ad-dition to the cash certificates, turkeys, and a Schwinn bicycle furnished by the committee. Local merchants have been solicited for prizes, and they have furnished an outstanding array of gifts, according to the latest reports. Time for the drawing has been set at 4 p.m. because of the cold and darkness, dark-ness, which hampered both the drawing for prizes, and made it uncomfortable for onlookers. It is hoped the drawing will attract at-tract a large crowd of local people, even though prizewinners prizewin-ners need not be present to receive re-ceive prizes. Santa Claus will be present to help with the drawing and will stay on the rest of the afternoon in the local stores. He will also be in town on Saturday. Sat-urday. With the help of Keith Miller, of the Grove Theatre, and thru the sponsorship of local merchants, mer-chants, a free show is slated for 4:30 p.m. immediately after af-ter the drawing. Tickets may be obtained for the children at sponsoring local stores, and parents can take advantage of this free babysitting service to shop and save in local stores. The show scheduled for Friday Fri-day is "Snow White and the Three Stooges." Next Friday, Dec. 20, under the same arrangement, ar-rangement, the show will be "Mi-. Scoutmaster." Also Friday afternoon, in conjunction con-junction with the drawing and continuing until at least after the picture show is over, at approximately ap-proximately 6 o'clock, hot dogs and drinks will be sold from the stand furnished free of charge by Lew Melendez, local carnival owner. The hot dog sales are sponsored by the C of C, and should provide a snack for parents and children who are working on their Christmas shopping list. Hot dog sales are also slated for Friday, Dec. 20, the second drawing date. Mr. Belliston urged all patrons pat-rons of the local stores to come out and participate in the fun of the Bell Ringer Sales Days. He said that it's only good business bus-iness to patronize local stores and at the same time you may receive valuable prizes. |
