Show G I 1 T Term Insurance aurance explained the utah state department of veterans affairs through its director edward T obrien advised all utah veterans to begin thinking about converting their G 1 I term insurance policies to one of six permanent plans available ai mr obrien explained that ex servicemen who took out their G 1 I insurance prior to january 1 1940 have eight years from the effective date of their insurance to change over those who signed up after january 1 1946 have five years from the effective date of their policies to change over some congressional sources believe that the term insurance may be extended an additional five years but mr obrien obrie n said that on all policies taken c out u t on 0 or r about 1940 veterans should consult the nearest utah state department department of veterans affairs office regarding conversion of that policy to a prem pre manent nent form mr obrien added that part of the total policy may be converted to a permanent plan and the other part kept in force as term insurance ilithe if the G I 1 desires this the most important deadline date to remember however is july 31 1948 the deadline to re instate G 1 I insurance lapsed for more than three months the state department of veterans affairs is now engaged in a concerted effort to reinstate as much lapsed G I 1 insurance as possible within that time |
