Show two local soldiers to be released from service the first parowan carowan men to be released from uncle sams fighting forces are expected to arrive in ft douglas this week end for final papers and will be home soon after they are lt errold H gurr son of mr and mrs wm win J gurr who has been in the army air service and mgt kent W mitchell Mit cheU who 0 only recently went back to his station following a three week furlough at home on his return from the south pacific lt gurr has been at the walker army air field at victoria kansas for several weeks and ace according to word received by his parents he is to get his release and leave there today and arrive in fort douglas on monday he returned to the states about a year ago following a long period of service in india burma and china where he wasa was a pilot in the air forces stricken with malaria he helas was finally sent back to a hospital in the U S for treatment and rest since his recovery his eyes have been bad and he has served as operations officer in the force until now mgt mitchell only recently came back to the U S after three years in the south pacific where he served in the new guinea hollandia yollandia Hol landia and the philippine invasions he and a buddy harold little of morgan who have been together since being inducted into the service and who had their leave together were released at santa barbara during the week and expect to reach ft douglas for final discharge tomorrow night members of his family are leaving for salt lake city tonight to meet him we understand |
