Show samuel robb dies at paragonah Para gonah home samuel robb prominent livestock man farmer and church work er of paragonah Para gonah died at his home there on tuesday morning of this week from heart trouble although he been in too good health for some time his condition become serious until recently and all of his children were able to come home and be with him before he passed away funeral services were held for him on thursday afternoon in the paragonah Para gonah ward chapel with bishop J leonard presiding pm iding the opening open 1 ng song oh my father was sung by the choir with amasa stones directing and mrs J lo 10 lowe we barton at the piano wm P barton offered the opening prayer after which the choir sang sometime well understand speakers were richard A robinson and dena williamson of para gonah with the latter also giving a sketch of the deceases life and barbara M adams of parowan carowan with closing remarks by bishop special musical numbers were two vocal solos the first one in the garden by miss addie lund accompanied compa nied by lyle marsden and the second the lords prayer by mrs hazel granger with mrs lillian macfarlane Macfar iane of cedar city at the piano the choir sang 1 I know that my redeemer lives as the closing number with addie lund singing the verses thomas robinson offered the closing prayer and the grave was dedicated by T A the floral offering were very beautiful and abundant and the chapel was well filled with relatives and friends samuel robb was lorn born nov 4 1859 in fort at paragonah Para gonah a and susannah Drummon Drum mona kl robb when he was about two years old his lather father was called to go to harrisburg utah to raise cotton he was baptised baptized sed nov 4 1867 and on april 26 1873 his mother died leaving four children william robb was a large cattle owner and samuel spent much of his time helping take care or of ane cattle he was a ve deiy 7 good horseman they furnished beef for the silver reef mine workers where samuel found one of the richest veins of the mine he married amanda marie dailey of paragonah Para gonah in the st george temple on feb 15 1877 they lived in harris harrisburg b arg for three and one halt hall years after they were marled maried and two childen were born to them at t that place ll 11 VL when the pioneers were called to settle san juan county Sar samuel nuell went with them and helped build the first road in the fall of 1880 he moved his family back to paragon ah and joined his brother alex in farming fanning and dattle raising after moving here they had nine more children making eleven altogether his wife died sept 10 1915 and he never married again he was very interested in genealogical ea work and was a ward teacher for many years and also held the off office lee of high priest lie he served as a home missionary at cedar city and also at beaver he was one of the first town loard board members and served several terms as such he loved the children and everyone called him uncle sam arn he was an outdoor man ana loved to hunt and fish and was an excellent ex ellent shot we went on his last fishing trip just two weeks ago for the last twenty years walter and his wife ethel have lived with and made a home for him in his declining years he is survived b by y the following children walter S and marion N robb of paragonah Para gonah colvin robb of cedar city and milton N robb of salt lake city mrs vivian barton of salt lake city and mrs zola robinson of rifle colarosa Co laroda also by wo sisters mrs jane jones of par aginah and mrs liddie barton of panguitch itch with many gr grand and and teat great grand children |
