Show F W middleton dies from heart ailment francis webster dick middleton 73 died at the iron county hospital early last thursday morning august 17 from a heart ailment from which he had been suffering for some time he was first stricken about three years ago but had been in reasonably good health until another attack on august 5 after which little hope was held for his recovery air middleton prominent livestock man wool and lamb buyer and active civic worker was widely known throughout all southern U tah he spent most of his life as a farmer and livestock raiser and for llie ilie past several years had d devoid ev cr le d his entire time lime to wool and lamb buying for various big companies he was one of cedar cites most active civic workers and had always been closely associated with that cl ci tys most important community un der akings he was a leader in the move to bring the railroad to cedar city and in the reopening opening re of the bank of southern utah he was born bom at hamiltons fort february 6 1873 a son of john and jane withers middleton and lived there until 1912 when he be moved to cedar city he married sarah holland of cedar city in 1896 and she and eleven children survive him of his children three are serving with the nations armed forces cal max H middleton with the field artillery in france rex H middleton in a training camp in california and cal james L middleton serving with a medical unit in new guinea other children are francis franc is H ana anat wm 11 middleton mrs R E win Lter rose mrs R J shay and mrs aft afton bohn of cedar city john H middleton of hamiltons fort mrs H P hardin of miami florida and mrs frank wagner of yuba city calif also surviving are three sisters mrs anne M cox of st george mrs jethro palmer cedar city and mrs W H pace of long beach funeral services for t the he deceased were held last saturday i afternoon in the first firs t ward chapel with bish bibb op H H lunt presiding with scott M matheson of salt lake city and wm R palmer and bish bishop p lunt being the speakers |
