Show iPA ROWAN LADY PASSES AFTER LONG ILLNESS funeral services were held wednesday afternoon in the parowan carowan fast east ward chapel for mrs clara elizabeth whitney connell who passed away at her home here on monday from intestinal complications the deceased has been iu ill for many months and has spent much of the time recently in the hospital at cedar city but the of her trouble was such that death came as a relief to long suffering services were conducted by bishop W L adams and were commenced by the combined choirs of the two wards singing though deepening trials with ivan decker directing and orna johnson accompanying pa nying speakers were simon A matheson and walter C mitchell with closing remarks by bishop adams other musical numbers included a vocal solo ill go where you want me to go dear lord by mary B orton accompanied by berta mitchell a male quartet num ber goin home by ray D ga garner r and company accompanied by orna johnson and the closing song that beautiful land sung by the tha choir david richards offered the opening prayer silas J ward the closing one and at the cemetery the grave was dedicated by vernon vemon heap pall bearers were three sons marion ross and glenn brown a brother B E whitney a cousin W F whitney and a nephew orland ward the flowers were in charge of lady friends of the family mrs connell was born at paro wan january 10 1875 a daughter of eli and annie lewis whitney she was married to brigham brown on nov 26 1896 and five children we were reborn born to them three of whom survive mr brown died in the spring of 1906 and on april 1907 she phe married james W mitchell who also preceded her in death on june 25 1934 she married jas N connell who survives her since then she has lived in los angeles for several years coming back here to make her home a year or two ago surviving her besides her husband are three sons marion W ross W and glenn W brown all of lo 10 vangeles sAn geles two brothers B E whitney of parowan carowan and frank whitney of cowley wyoming and four sisters mrs emma Emm aWard ward and mrs cora orton of parowan carowan Pa rowan mrs maude brown of portland oregon and mrs lulu peterson of milford |
