Show SPONSORS SPONSOR 4 DECIDE TO CONTINUE NURSERY SCHOOLS in answer to a call issued last week by the county commissioners officers of the county school district the B A C parowan carowan and cedar city officials and representatives of the welfare relief societies and nurses of the county met monday evening in the elementary school library at cedar city to discuss the value of the 1 nursery schools conducted in paro wan and cedar city and to decide on their sponsorship the schools whose average enrollment roll ment in each place is about 25 children between the ages of avs 2 and 5 years have been operating under a joint sponsorship of tae the federal county and city governments the schools and other organizations they have been open to children of families in the lower income groups the federal government provides the money to pay the salaries of the teachers employed amounting to a little under annually with 9 people on the payroll while the various other sponsors have been paying 18 each per month the county officials had planned to withdraw their sponsorship but if they decide to follow the recommendations of meeting on monday evening they will reinstate the countes coun tys part of the sponsors contributions it was the con census of opinion at the meeting that the nursery schools were filling a very important need in the communities and it was decided to continue them on the same basis as in the past |
