Show HEART ATTACK FATAL TO RICHARD A THORLEY funeral services were hold held in the cedar first ward chapel thu thursday raday afternoon for richard A thorley Tho 79 former cedar city livestock man and farmer who died at hia hh home in st george early monday following a three weeks illness born in cedar city nov 10 1882 1862 a fn an of thomas and anne aldridge tar thorie ley y early earli pioneers he mide made his home in cedar city until about 7 years ago when he moved to S st t george to work in the temple he was the first man to bring sheep to cedar city ile he was an aati active ve church and ci civic worker having served on the tha cedar city council for three terms and as a member of the iron county school board for 20 years acting as president of the board most of the time he was in office he was also one of the founders of the B A C in 1897 and mortgaged his sheep to purchase the first heating plant for the school mr thorley served on a mission for the church in the southern states in 1916 he was a member of the parowan carowan stake high council was superintendent of the first ward sunday school and was active in other capacities in the church surviving are his second wife mrs elizabeth bulloch thorley Tho one son wm stewart thorley of cedar city three daughters mrs S B of cedar mrs marvin jensen of brigham city and mrs emory ranker of piedmont calif A sister and six brothers also survive as follows mrs annie T cox thomas A david A dr robert A and harry thorley all of cedar city and lehl lehi A thorley of otto wyoming along with 14 grandchildren an da great grandchildren |
