Show HEALTH NURSE TELLS ABOUT TUBBER CULIN TEST 0 on thursday afternoon mrs jeanne Kra igness county public health nurse met with all grade students at the high school and discussed the program now underway for tuberculin testing of sen bior students in the two county high schools she explained the simplicity of 0 the patch test to be used this year in preference to the test formerly given she also requested that any student having i 4 positive reaction make arrangements for a chest xray x ray to ascertain his true physical condition it was emphasized to the group that persons having positive ra rc action do not necessarily have infection fec tion only the xray x ray can tell tuberculosis often begins during adolescence and if found then before it has had a chance to do any damage it can be cured it is not an inherited disease but is transmitted from person to person just as are other infectious diseases the testing program is under the direction of the county tuberculosis control committee cooperating with public health agencies during the past week letters have been sent out to parents of students to be tested explaining the test and giving them opportunity to sign a request statement for their boy or girl to receive the service offered all workers in this program are appreciative of the cooperation of parents and are happy to receive suggestions as to any means of furthering the work in the county |
