Show PRIMARY ASSIN HOLDS STAKE HARVEST DAY special to the times the parowan carowan stake primary harvest day was held in the parowan carowan westward chapel sin on august 27 1941 the event began with a program given by some of the wards in the stake which had used mus music ic and stories as part of their summer projects and consisted 01 lie cie following parts operetta marjorie goes mo modern d em 11 by cedar second ward chorus number by summit ward retold story cedar ath ward song parowan carowan east ward the primary flower garden by enoch ward an exhibit of handicraft was on display in the relief society rooms with a large amount of work done by tiny tots as well as the older boys and girls each table was an inspiration to observe with large varieties from each ward and with few duplications from any c of A them exhibits included beautiful hand work from the girls departments as well as weaving chests doll hous houses B baskets etc from all groups prizes were given to the wards having the best exhibits judging was done by a set of rules formulated by the stake and accepted by the wards each ward was numbered and the judges did not know which wards exhibit they were judging ward no 10 parowan carowan west won first prize by scoring 80 points and received 3 ward no 5 parowan carowan fast east was 2nd and scoring 75 points and receiving 2 ward no 7 ah was 3rd ard with 60 points and received a prize of au 1 bu outstanding articles en entered from other wards were no 1 most complete farm by ce cedar dar ath no 2 puppets by cedar 2nd and no 3 nature books and chorus summit no 4 operetta exceptional performance for mance by enoch no 8 quantity and quality of embroidery was very outstanding cedar 1st ast during the time the judging was being done those present were entertained by group singing led by ida burton and games led by gayle gayla morris mon l to refresh all punch and ana wafers were served by the stake board with mrs alice garner winell dalley dailey berniece ev evans ans and fern wiltsey as the ca committee in charge the tables decorations an and d exhibits were in charge of a committee consisting of grace burt chairman ethel robb verena decker and lulu bastian the room was decorated in th the e primary colors red y yellow c ilow and blue and was very well arranged at the end of the days program every one departed parted le to their places of at abode with an inspiration gath ered from the fine work that had been done and the desire to 10 mate mae the primary in this stake a bigger and stronger organization than ever 1 before |
