Show BESS WARD WRITES FROM california MISSION the following letter was received during the week by the times from miss bess ward was is ing as a missionary for the L D S church in the Cali forina mission pasadena california july 20 1941 parowan carowan times parowan carowan Pa rowan utah dear editor I 1 am writing at this time to thank you for the home paper I 1 have enjoyed it and look forward to it each tuesday morning the missionaries sion aries tell me I 1 hurry home on tuesday more so than at any other time and I 1 must admit it is true I 1 am enjoying my work verr ver much and can hardly believe it has been thirteen months since I 1 left home but I 1 have enjoyed working here in california even though it does get degrees every once once in a while I 1 like the work here in pasadena and we have the opportunity of meeting a number of important and interesting people we attended the graduation exercises at the world famous cal tech college where some several hundred young men received their degrees it was truly a thrilling sight the prime minister of australia gave the address to the graduates some of the other places of interest have been santa anita race track rose bowl huntington mem orial library we have truly enjoyed our visits to these places I 1 have met several people from home I 1 met mr george chilton while walking down the street in riverside calif I 1 have also met several other people I 1 know it shows that the world is not so large after all again may I 1 say many thanks tor for the home town paper I 1 sincerely A california missionary bess ward north orange grove avenue |
