PARAGONAH BOY WINS oratorical CONTEST I 1 sheldon edwards paragonah Para gonah student at a t the parowan carowan high school was declared the winner winner in the american legion Orator icil dl contest held during the armistice day program last saturday morning and therefore received the medal given annually by the local lesion post for excellence along this line mr edwards subject was american neutrality which he handled very well these contests are sponsored each year by the american legion with elimination trials being held in th the schools until the field narrows down to three contestants who compete during the armistice day program other contestants this year were florian matheson an and d david hatch and their talks far below that of the winner judges of the contest contes were alice richards louise and W L adams the entire program given during r the meeting featuring the oratorical at contest musical numbers and a one act play presented under the direction of chas elliott was very good and a large number of students and townspeople were in attendance
