Show EXTENSION SERVICE convention REPORTED BY DIRECTOR PETERSON william peterson director of the utah state agricultural college extension service recently returned from the regional conference of extension workers in 11 western states at zephyr point on lake tahoe nevada where problems of rural interest were considered si since the conference was divided into three parts administrative clothing and horticulture director peterson was accompanied by af mis s susie sanford clot clothing clotting ling specialist and arvil L stark horticulturist for utah in 1937 a committee composed of director F A anderson of col orado and B H crocheron Croch cron director tor for california and director pator son was appointed to prepare and present a report on agriculture ani nome home economics in in he 11 vaci i stati statis s this was dacie ame md and at tile the lake tahoe conov tn en the report was ie levi viewed iwed this report centered around th efforts of the extension service in 11 reaching the farm dituri of the region A review of the personnel conducting extension work Ws made as was a report of how we well ll 11 the information the workers have to offer is reaching the farm people the conclusion was reached that more work must be done for our farmers and especially in boys and girls club work A method of approach was devised which called for the development of a plan of work that will aid in solving the problems of farm people this plan is to be correlated with the efforts of existing government agencies that are operating in the agricultural field director peterson reviewed the physical measurements of the region including topography climate population livestock irrigation reclamation indian lands and national parks he stated that the A western region comprises approximately 40 percent of the total area of the united states ten of the 11 states were represented new medicos cos director being detained because of illness |
