Show I 1 BRANCH COLLEGE HAS LARGE enrollment IN METAL TRADES CLASSES the enrollment in the sit auto to re pair body and tender fender work drefin bishing II shing welding and machine shop methods at the ithe B A C Is larger lin in the current winter quarter than bat at any time in the history of the department according to mr eru aest jeppson instructor I 1 I 1 the B A C metal trades has an I 1 enviable record in the matter ot of I 1 placement of students who have finished the courses in jobs with I 1 local garages and garages elsei where these there graduates are making good in practically all cases according to inquiry made by the B A C instructors each of 0 these courses consists ot of ono one full years training at the rate of f three hours a day arditi additional I 1 equipment placed in the department this year includes an electric welder and an extra osy acetylene welder additional equipment Is needed to take care of the increased enrollment in the che weld v elding division according to mr air jeppson the sixteen stalls in the auto re cair I 1 r s shop b ap are constantly filled to capacity c p ac ity with ears cars owned by students upon which the work ls is part of their instruction unit there biere Is also a constant waiting list of twelve to fifteen for space in the repair shop by students la in this division this work la Is largely worl woric that would never be taken to a commercial garage since it Is the policy of this department not to infringe upon the business institutions in this city the B A C metal trades shop has a very complete assortment of equipment having the only milling machinery in the area of southwestern utah and eastern nevada due to the increased enrollment it is very probable that additional units of equip equipment ment of the kinds already on hand will be necessary in succeeding quarters and it Is the wish of those in charge of the department part ment to add motor testing e quip merit in ila order to be equipped to give instruction in every possible phase of auto repair work |
