Show no bounty money until december 15 local men who have been looking forward to doing some trapping this fall as a source of revenue and sheep men who have been expecting relief from predatory animals thru trapping operations are likely to experience peri ence some disappointment when abell they read a recent letter from the state auditors office to county clerks copy of which we publish herewith as follows salt lake city sept 1 1931 dear mr rowley county clerk you will remember that ihal the state bounty fund became practically exhausted on oil april 10 last and a few days to lo that time I 1 notified you of our anticipation ln in the matter and requested that no bounty certificates be issued after april 10 until further orders we haie hae been looking forward tor for sufficient money tor for the bounty fund to dc slat an opening day ilund upon lipon which to resume payment of bounty certificates but at this time lime ait it does docs not look as it if it would be ba possible for or us to sei get that Aate date b before D december 1931 all county clerks are respectively reminded that a former attorney general of tile iho state slate ruled that bounty must not lip be paid on oil skins of pre citory animals killed more than sixty days pi lor to the date dale the slate auditor designates as the opening day upon which payment of said bounty certificates Is resumed we will ill designate and appraise the county clerks just its as soon as we are able to determine said date most host respectfully yours ivor ajax state auditor it would appear from the foregoing that trapping done before the middle of october will be useless as 85 furs will probably not be good before then and bounty can not be collected |
