Show BRANCH COLLEGE TO GIVE COURSE IN SHEARING A course in sheep shearing will be offered at the branch ral college beginning about april ath according to an announcement made today by E ray lyman instructor tor in sheep and wool there has developed in southern utah a growing deme demand nd for or experienced men in the shearing pens during the shearing season it Is difficult tor for young men to receive training Iral ning because ot of the fact that all corrals are rushed to capacity and the work requires a degree ot or speed which only the experienced men can supply to meet this situation sheep men of southern utah have asked the dranch branch college to otter offer a course tor for beginners in accordingly an intensive laboratory course 8 bellg planned to cover caver a period of 0 about two weeks arrangements have been made tor for the use ot of the tha lones shearing shed south of 0 the cedar city stock yards as a laboratory and the cedar city livestock association has agreed to purchase the necessary equipment taa college plans to secure the services ot of an expert shearer who will supervise the boys in their work farm flocks in the vicinity ot of cedar city will be sheared at a reduced price in addition to the work in shearing ng the boys will also be given some demonstrate demon demonstrations strat ions in wool grading and wll report to the flock masters oi 0 the condition and quality of their wool it is expected that about IS 18 hoys boys from southern utah towns will register for or the course in addition to receiving credit at the college tor for their work the boys will be ba pala at the rate of ten cents per head for or all sheep sheared |
