| Show an error our attention is called in a recent communication from S J foster I 1 cashier of the bank of southern utah to an error in the article published in last weeks issue of the times concerning getting money from the state land commissioner on improved farms the illustration of the loan given in that article states that the interest would amount to ciper s per cent over a period of ten years but as mr foster points out it figures out to 88 per c ent cent on the money actually received by the borrower from the sale of bonds figuring on the basis of the interest paid w would be 72 7 at per cent alrig alright bt but the borrower would only receive for hit his five thousand dollar mortgage under the conditions illustrated and the actual interest paid on that amount as mr foster says would be 88 per cent the times was not responsible for the figures g given iven i however as the article referred to came direct from the state association with the request that it be published and we did so without checking the figures we are glad to have our attention and the attention of our readers called to the error however there is enough of human nature about us that we can not refrain from publishing mr fosters compliment to us in the first paragraph para paragraph grap h of his letter which read as folio vs 1 I have just finished reading the last issue of your newsy paper and wish to say that you are arc putting out a paper that is a credit to parowan carowan and iron county expressions of that sort make us feel that our efforts are appreciated |
