Show Holy Rosary Parish The Parish felt the effects of the diminished employment in the mines early In the year through the loss of a number of faithful members whose families moved away. The Lenten activities, however, -showed no falling off. The Ladies of the Altar Society distinguished themselves them-selves by a very successful celebration celebra-tion of the Feast of St Patrick, in which both memliers and non-members of the Parish participated ; and by their faithful work in attendance and care of the Sanctuary. Father Ruel, whose splendid efforts ef-forts as pastor during his stay here had produced very gratifying results, re-sults, was transferred to one of the largest parishes In the state, at Price, which embraces seven counties, coun-ties, and Fatljer, Joseph ,I,( Gosselln came here as pastor In March. He was no stranger to1 the people here as he had relieved Father Ruel during dur-ing the latter's vacation in the previous pre-vious summer. The summer school registered fifty-eight children and the attend-1 ance was very good ; both the pastor past-or and the ladles who so freely devoted de-voted their time to the school work have reason to feel gratified over the success attained in this most lm-' lm-' portand task of supplying in a measure mea-sure the lack of Catholic religious education in our school system. The adult choir under the dl- rectlon of Mr. Pat CMalley, has rendered splendid service; the children's child-ren's choir is also progressing. Mr. O'Malley is now directing the adult choir In a unison Mass to be sung at the coming iMSdnight Mass on Christmas. The pastor extends a hearty invitation to everybody to attend and hear and witness this ceremony in commemoration of the birth of Christ. This invitation is for all, both Catholics and non-Catholics. non-Catholics. October, the month dedicated to the Holy Rosary, witnessed a wonderfully won-derfully large attendance at dally Mass all through the month and1 the reception of the Sacraments by many. In November a relief committee com-mittee to aid the poor was organized organ-ized in the Parish.
