Show report of winds A H Th eiton meteorologist of the salt lake weather bureau forwarded the following letter to alex matheson of this city which is self explanatory salt lake city may 7 1917 alex matheson Pa Paro roan aan utah dear sir I 1 am requested by the chief of the weather bureau to make a report on winds in utah dur ing 1910 and statistics of damage done to property and loss if life and to this end will you kindly ans the questions to the best of your K knowledge ledge and return them to this thi office at your earliest ton uy ity very truly yours in reply to the above request mr me matheson forwarded forward pd the following As to dates I 1 am not able to give any we generally iene enc rally have much dry wind in early summer but nothing 0 of fan an alarming nature there was no loss lois of life here in parowan carowan Pa rowan and I 1 cannot recall any lobs less of life a by bv winds in 10 the he last 50 years some hiees and barns were blown down lust year but the damage was slight our high altitude ft I 1 I 1 think favors us so that winds are not so destructive as aa at a lower alti tude tede our sister city cedar suffer ed ad a loss of some 30 20 or 40 barns last year while our loss was as much less leas respectfully ALEX MATHESON vot vol observer |
