Show Winter Welcome doubles last year's donations Jans w inter Welcome, held last Saturday to benefit the Park City Junior Ski Team, probably raised twice as much money as last year's benefit, said team director Bob Marsh. Marsh said the fundraiser, attended at-tended by about 250 people, raised rais-ed between $20,000 to $25,000. About $12,000 was raised during the 1984 Winter Welcome, he said. The Winter Welcome included verbal and silent auctions, a fashion show and contests model ed after television game shows. Among the items auctioned were an Alaskan hunting trip, one-year leases on new Toyota and Jeep four-wheel-drive vehicles, clothing, an original watercolor painting, a fly-fishing trip and a wet suit. Marsh said the Park City Ski Education Foundation underwrites under-writes about 60 percent of the expenses ex-penses of the junior ski team, whose purpose is to develop Olympic-caliber skiers from among local youth. |
