M Denny motivation motivation motivation moti moti- to return to college some ten years after he had completed graduate studies I HAD THE desire to help others to realize their individual individual individual indi indi- vidual potential capabilities he admitted and to gain a professional independence for myself His philosophy of life is interesting interesting in and could be a good for any man HE SAYS Man can do whatever he wants to do in life is his desire to accomplish accomplish lish is strong enough and if he is willing villing to put forth the effort and make the sacrifice to do so President Denny put his philosophy philosophy philosophy phi phi- to work by proving his determination to become a lawyer WHILE WIDLE attending law school I he worked full full- time to sup tb sup i I port his rus family of sev seven in addition to his studies He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Utah Law School after studying four years graduating with high honors Now still several years I II I later he is once again proving his convictions with an interest interest interest in in- terest and determination to I pilot an aircraft He is atthe atthe at atthe the present time receiving private instruction and just recently started solo flights THIS HAS liAS been a thrilling challenge for me I have enjoyed enjoyed enjoyed en en- joyed every minute of my flight time Mr Denny stat stat- ed A native of Beaver Utah Mr Denny moved with his family to Springville Park City and later to Salt Lake City where he graduated from South High School AFTER A TWO year period in the service of his country in the submarine service of the navy he returned to complete complete complete com com- his BA Degree at Weber State College Two vo years later he received received received re re- re- re a BS Degree from Utah State University His graduate study was done at atthe atthe atthe the University of Utah where he received a graduate certificate certificate certificate in Public Administration Administration Administration Adminis Adminis- in 1950 IT WAS VAS while he was at attending attending attending at- at tending Weber College that he married Eula Peterson They are the parents of nine children six daughters and three sons Their two oldest daughters Kalyn and Sandra are graduates of Bountiful High School Kalyn has attended attended attended at at- tended the University of Utah and is presently employed at Mountain States Telephone Sandra is employed at Pamela is a jUI junior or at Bountiful Bountiful Bountiful Boun Boun- High School Mark is a ninth grader and Janet a seventh grader at Bountiful Junior High with David Laurel Randell and Valerie attending Stoker Elementary OF UTMOST importance in Mr Dennys Denny's life has been his rus service in activities of the Church Following teaching teaching teach teach- ing positions in the priesthood quorums and Sunday School as MIA Superintendent and andas as a counselor in the bishopric bishop bishop- ric he was sustained as bishop bishop bishop bish bish- op of Bountiful Second Ward Wardin in 1955 A move from that ward to toa toa toa a larger home in Bountiful Sixth Ward necessitated his release He soon received a call to serve as bishop of that ward President Denny has enjoyed great variety in Church experiences serving as scoutmaster high priest group leader genealogy teacher and various other teaching positions in the ward prior to his present stake ap ap- ap- ap AN ACTIVE worker in the Indian programs Mr Denny directs a number of these in his capacity as deputy administrator administrator administrator admin admin- of the Department of Employment Security As Stake president he is al also also also al- al so active in the Indian Placement Placement Placement Place Place- ment program of the Church The family feels forI fortunate fortunate for for- I to have an Indian daughter daugh daugh- ter Vida of Blanding Utah living in their home IN ADDITION to his professional professional pro pro- professional duties and his church activities Mr 11 Denny is a member member member mem mem- ber of the Utah State Bar Association Association Association As As- and the Order of the Coif a legal scholastic honor society He has been a member of the American Society for Public Public Public Pub Pub- lic Administration and is currently a member of the In Interstate Interstate Interstate In- In conference of Employment Employment Employment Em Em- Security Agencies He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Hospital Hospital Hospital Hos Hos- pital a member of the executive exI executive ex ex- I committee of the Great I Salt Lake Council of the Boy Scouts of America and is In In- Finance Chairman of the Lake Shore District of the Boy Scouts of America HE ALSO includes the Bountiful Bountiful Bountiful Boun Boun- Rotary Club and the Utah Pilots Association in his community and civic affairs Mr Denny has a variety of interests and hobbies They include music
