Show Deadlines The Park Record is happy to run brief notices of upcoming up-coming events for nonprofit organizations. Please drop them off at our office, 419 Main St., before S p.m., Monday. A.F.S. meeting There will be an important American Field Service meeting on Thursday, March 1 at 7:30 p.m. It will be held at Sue Worley's home, 2077 Evening Star Drive. Methods of raising funds to meet the annual participation fee will be discussed. A.F.S. has given Park City students scholarships so they can participate in the exchange program. Our financial finan-cial responsibility to remain an active chapter must be met. We encourage all interested students and adults to attend. (31) Wanted: senior citizens The Park City Senior Citizens would like new members. Meetings are each Monday and Thursday at 5 p.m. for dinner. din-ner. Dues are only $2 per person and any resident of Park City 55 years of age and over is eligible. (tfn) Assistance for taxpayers Taxpayers with questions concerning their federal income tax returns can get free assistance from the Volunteer Income In-come Tax Assistance Program (VITA), and through Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE). VITA offers IRS-trained volunteers who assist taxpayers with special needs low-income, non-English speaking, elderly, or handicapped with completion of their tax returns. re-turns. TCE is a similar program emphasizing assistance to persons generally age 60 or over and offering particular help with tax problems common to the elderly. Community Clinic The Park City Community Clinic is a non-profit family planning and reproductive health program. Appointments are available for morning, afternoon and evening. Examinations are performed by a nurse practitioner. Services offered include: physical exam, PAP tests, counseling coun-seling and education, VD screening, pregnancy testing and contraceptive supplies. Costs for these services are reasonable. (31) Education through psychosocial drama Psychosocial drama employs drama, satire, music, graphic arts and dance to creatively make an impact upon audiences. Through these mediums, everyday situations are presented in a way to help audiences experience insight into their attitudes and behavior. Park City's first psychosocial drama troupe will consist of 5 to 10 members who will use PSD to address such important topics as family communication, substance abuse and prevention, corporate staff relations, stress, spouse and child abuse, depression, health care education and many others. Any person, agea 12-99 years, who is interested in participating par-ticipating with the troupe, should call Kim Lindgren between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at 649-8347 by March 2. You need not have experience in the arts, only an interest in human awareness issues. Assistance with utility bills Approximately $3.8 million in federal funding is still available in Utah for assistance with residential utility bills. The purpose of the Home Energy Assistance Target (H.E.A.T.) program is to assist low-income households with the rising cost of home energy. Renters and homeowners may apply for a one-time payment during each program year. The current H.E.A.T. Program runs from November, 1983 to April, 1984. j . . . Eligibility for H.E.A.T. payments is determined by household size and annual household income. The payment is based on the type of fuel used for heating and the location of the residence in the state. Individuals interested m applying for the H E A T. program should contact their local Social Services office at 1-800-662-3633 (toll-free outside Salt Lake). The deadline for applications is April 30. World's Largest Garage Sale Is your basement, garage and closet stacked, packed and squeezed with "treasures" and "must keeps"? Take them to the Arthritis Foundation World's Largest Garage Sale, Saturday April 21. Both individuals and community groups are encouraged to sell their goods (foods excluded). The sale will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Money gained from sales is retained by the participants. Those who intend to participate in the garage sale must make their reservations by March 9. There are 40 8 x10 booths available for rental at $20 each, tables at $5 and chairs at 75 cents. Participants may rent a double booth. (31) Your boat is now under 'Motor Vehicles' Transfer of boat and all-terrain vehicle (ATV) registrations from the Division of Parks and Recreation to the Division of Motor Vehicles has prompted an extension of the registration date by the State Board of Parks and Recreation. The board has approved a registration extension from Feb. 29, 1984 to April 30, 1984. After 1984, annual boat and ATV registration will expire the end of February. All inquiries regarding boat and ATV registrations should be directed to the Division of Motor Vehicles. (31) Pro Musica trio to perform The Park City Fine Arts Series will feature a trio from Pro Musica in their fourth program to be presented Sunday, March 4, at 8 p.m. Performing at the Community Church at 402 Park Avenue, the group will present a variety of music. (38) City-wide cleanup week In preparation for Founders' Week activities, the City Council has designated the week of Feb. 27 - March 3 as City-wide City-wide Cleanup Week. The council is urging all businesses and residences to make an extra effort to see that their neighborhood neigh-borhood is clean. (31) Children's Dance New sessions for children's dance classes are beginning Monday, Feb. 27. (31) Taking Better Photographs This class concentrates on how the camera works and how to make it perform to meet your needs. (223) Introduction to the Arts' for kids The Kimball Art Center will be offering "Introduction to the Arts" classes for first and second graders. The course will run for six weeks beginning Feb. 29 (previously scheduled for Feb. 28) and will be taught every Wednesday from 3:45 to 5: 15 p.m. The classes will be a hands-on experience for children with art materials and exposure to the art environment. (223) Childbirth Preparation The Summit County Health Department will be starting its next childbirth preparation classes Wednesday, March 7 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Public Health Department, Park Meadows Plaza. The class offered will include: options in the birthing room, delivery room, and Caesarean birth and breathing techniques. Movies and manual are included. (31) Men's Aerobics (Skiercize) Men: now you can come to a class taught by men.
