Show Deer Valley to add restaurant, two lifts Deer Valley Resort Company has announced plans to construct two new chairlifts and a mountain top restaurant restau-rant this summer. The new Mayflower lift will be located to the east of the Sultan chairlift on Deer Valley's Bald Mountain, according to a Deer Valley press release. The new triple chairlift will be 3,450 feet in length, spanning 1,400 vertical feet. It will make accessible six new runs as well as a bowl which will appeal to advanced-intermediate advanced-intermediate and expert skiers. This additional 61 acres will bring Deer Valley's total skiing terrain to 290 acres. The second lift planned for the 1984-85 season is called the Clipper lift, according to Deer Valley. This triple passenger lift will parallel the existing Carpenter lift. It will be used for access between the Snow Park and Silver Lake areas and will eliminate morning congestion there, according to the release, while allowing the Carpenter lift to be used specifically for Bald Eagle Mountain skiers. A 200-seat restaurant will also be constructed on Bald Mountain, to the west of the unloading area for the Sterling lift. The new restaurant and lifts will allow Deer Valley to increase its daily skier limit to 4,000 while maintaining the high quality and short lift lines, the Deer Valley release said. |
