Show Senior's Tourney Set at Jeremy players on the Senior's tour which include Palmer, Billy Casper, Sam Snead, Julius Boros, and many other legends of the links. Proceeds from the event will go to charity being distributed to the Osmond Foundation and the Jeremy Foundation which supports . Cottonwood and Alta View hospitals along the Wasatch Front. The Osmonds have committed commit-ted to entertain during the event and have been working on lining up other top celebrities. Bob Hope has apparently expressed an interest in attending the event providing their are no conflicts with his schedule. A final list of participants and celebrities should be. firmed up by June. Legendary golfer Arnold Palmer has kept his word and in August will help host a PGA senior's tournament at the Jeremy Ranch course which he designed near Park City. Last fall when the course officially opened, Palmer said he would work towards scheduling a PGA tour stop at Jeremy, and added he hoped he could arrange at least a Senior's tournament at the course within the next few years. Utah's golf enthusiasts were surprised that the Jeremy tour stop had been so quickly added to the Senior's schedule. The tournament, sponsored mostly by Bagley and Co. developers of the Jeremy course, is scheduled for August 25-28 and is the eighth stop of this year's 12 tournament tour. The 72 hole event will feature a pro-am during the first two days of play with top professionals paired with amateurs who will pay a $3,000 entry fee. The professionals, all over 50, will be competing for a total purse of $150,000 with a $25,000 check going to the winner. The total purse is expected to draw the tor |
