Show Friendship Cruise Coming The 25th Anniversary Friendship Cruise, slated for Memorial Day weekend, will be cosponsored by the Utah State Div. of Parks and Recreation. This popular 184 mile river run, held in Southeastern Utah, will be launched May 28 and 29 at Green River State Recreation Area in Green River, Utah. Boaters will run down the Green River to the confluence with the Colorado River and upstream to Moab City. Water conditions have been predicted to be the best for boating in many years due to above normal snow pack in the mountains. The prospect of great water conditions has sparked increased interest in the cruise which had to be cancelled last year because of extremely low water. "Boaters wishing to camp overnight at Green River State Recreation Area should make reservations at the park as early as possible," said Superintend- ent Luke. Reservations are accepted by mail or in person. Send requests for reservations to: Green River State Rec. Area, P.O. Box 93, Green River, UT 84525. Boaters participating in the Friendship Cruise will not be required to pay the $2 park day-use fee. Registration fee for the Friendship Cruise is $50 per boat. Pre-registrations are welcome and should be in by May 1, 1932. Registrations will be accepted May 28 and 29 until noon at the Green River City firehouse. Registration Regis-tration forms are available from: The Friendship Cruise, Box 4, Green River, UT 84525. Boaters are urged to comply with the State boating regulations to insure a safe river experience. |
