Show ' 1 - 1 Boomtown Workshop The Overthrust Industrial Assoc. is sponsoring a workshop on the problems experienced by people in rapid growth communities, such as stress, alcohol and drug abuse, crime, family problems, problems of senior citizens and youth, and integration of newcomers into the community. The free workshop will be held at the North Summit Middle School in Coalville on Tuesday, July 27 from 7 to 10 p.m. The workshop will focus on identifying and preventing problems of residents in boomtowns, including those specific to Summit County. The agenda will include an opportunity for small groups to discuss human problems in Summit County and actions that can be taken by residents to help prevent or solve the problems. The workshop is being presented by Drs. Judith K. Olson and Julie "Marty". Uhlmann. Both are members of the OIA Human Services Technical Assistance Team. The information they present will include the findings of a study of human service needs that they conducted in boomtowns in six Western states. This is the first of two workshops on human services. ser-vices. It will build a foundation for the second workshop which will focus on human service planning and program evaluation. The general public is invited to attend, as well as those who have a special interest in human services.
