Radio Taken from Car A radio valued at $25 was taken from Joseph Chamberlain's car June 8. The vehicle was parked at the Shadow Ridge lot when the theft occurred. Briefcase Snatched Richard Warner Burton II told officers a Samsonite brief case valued at $100 had been taken from his unlocked vehicle June 5. His car was parked on Main St. when the brief case vanished. Underground Camping Lot? Tom Distad reported seeing a suspicious person near the underground parking area at the Aspen Grove condos in Deer Valley. Distad said the suspect was about 5 ft. 7 in. and appeared "very dirty". He thought the man might be camping out in the underground garage. Don't Ask Questions While Joyce Dixon of Phoenix was asking directions from an employee at the 7-11 store on Park Ave., her purse was taken from her car parked outside. The purse contained $160 in cash plus assorted credit cards and checks. The theft occurred June 9. Sunglass Caper Unsolved Sunglasses valued at an undetermined amount were taken from 7-11 June 9. Police officers questioned a suspect in the case but could establish no proof the man had taken the glasses. Park Ave. Rear-Ender A nasty rear-end accident caused an estimated $2,500 damage to Adrian Steven's car the morning of June 9. Jerry Johnson apparently fell asleep at the wheel and rammed the rear of the Stevens' car along the 900 block of Park Ave. Construction Workers Injured Three construction workers were treated for minor injuries June 9 when a wall fell on them at the Silverbird Condominium construction site in Deer Valley. And, in a related story a Silver King Condominium site construction worker was treated at the family health clinic for carbon monoxide poisoning June 10. Shoplifters Caught at 7-Eleven Three juveniles were apprehended shoplifting at 7-11 June. 10. The suspects who were later released to their parents had taken, between them, Apple and Grape Chews plus a pack of rootbeer Life Savers valued in agrregate at $1.10. Hill Bide, of Hwv 248. The smashed window was valued at $200. Mt. Air Reports $200 Theft George Polychronis, owner of the Mt. Air Cafe on lower Park Ave. reported the theft of $200 from his restaurant June - 10. Polychronis said the money was taken from a cash box in the business' safe. . , Jacuzzi Door Damaged Officers are searching for a suspect who may be responsible for breaking the Jacuzzi door at the Copperbottom Inn last week. The door to which $30 to $50 in damage had been inflicted was noticed by an employee after an "intoxicated" person tried to rent a room and specifically asked about the Jacuzzi. An empty champagne bottle was found in the . Jacuzzi which officers dusted for prints. Alice Didn't Call Alice Williams of Thaynes Canyon says she was not the person who reported the kids fishing in the city sewer last week. She feels her name may have been used by the person who did actually make the call. , |
